They Danced

A graceful foxtrot,
It was as if they were on a foamy cloud.
Their eyes glowing,
Their faces bright,
With a touch of happiness.
The gardens beautiful.
The house colossal.
They danced under the sunset of the day.

A grand Charleston,
It was as if they were on a pink cloud.
Their eyes hollow,
Their faces blank,
With a drop a guilt.
His silk shirt ragged.
Her white dress faded.
They danced into the night under the twilight of the universe.

An elegant waltz,
It was as if they were on a green cloud.
Their eyes sharp,
Their faces pale,
With rivets of malice.
Their cocktails spilled.
Their money cold.
They danced into tomorrow under the green haze of the sunrise.

Passed By

I'm not going to lie,
What the fuck just happened.
Caught me off guard.
Caught me by surprise.

eyes wide

heard it last,
but i saw it first,
thought it would hurt,
the show you pulled never worked,
i'm glad,
just proved it was a big joke

Cold Winter Day

To my dismay,
This cold winter day
Brought more than Jack to nibble away.

Free

When opening the box,
Don't worry.
The hens, the cats, the fox,
No hurry.
Running down the streets,
Bare feet.
Away from their owners fury.

Over About

Drop me a line to tie up these loose ends.
Drop me a string to swing over our problems.
Sing a song about it.
Write a book about it.
We'll be rich before we know it.

Risky Business

take the risk
fall in love
because really
how many times can you break my heart?

never thought you could be so morbid,
you cut me open,
do you see my organs?
i'm breathing, im wheezing
im bleeding, im heaving,
my insides are outside,

A Heated Exchange

She said,
"You're one hot tamale."
He said,
"You're too hot to handle."

Weighed Down

Left in my shoe, left shoe,
Right in my shoe, right shoe,
Sand piles up.

Little Trees

Crunchy,
Sweet with green.
Steamed, boiled or raw.

All-In

Rush of,
Risk of,
Run of,
Folded.

Curves

We had a fight last night,
After my fingers,
After my lips,
Rolled down your curves.
We had a fight last night.
After you laughed,
After you screamed,
We had a fight last night.

We had a tickle fight.

Renew

Hold me close and say "Hello...",
Hold me close and say "...good-bye."

Bitter Taste

Bitter Taste
Drop it on the cutting board,
This slab of meat.
Butcher it, bake it, boil it, broil it,
But,
My heart tastes better raw.

Lost at Sea

Resurfaced, submerged, and soaked in the murky depths,
Two more for the boat.
Another sunkenship,
with more than enough buried treasure.

unforgiven

join the ranks of countless men
it grows with an unforgiving speed
to an unforgiving number
by an unforgiving
girl

Often times

Sometimes,
Things that aren't said,
Hurt more,
Than things that are said.

The Misses

Mistaking, mistook, mistake.
The three misses that run my life.

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

as i make my way under this haze,
my eyes glazed,
after years in this cave,
afraid.

(untitled)

i'm bitter, no season,
I fall, spring,
summersault,
but can't winter-over,
and as i get older,
I Catcher in the Rye,
Holden, a cup with ginger.
Ale, stir, not shake,
another glass, knocked back,
but unbroken.
