Slap Happy

Being the nice guy that I am, I love to spread my joy to all the people in the vicinity. And I have discovered that it doesn't have to be anything big, it can be the little things, the minute things that make people happy. I am not claiming to have invented nor created this, but I am only helping to only educate those that are in the dark about it.

It was only down a path which I normally take, but not which I particularly partake around this hour, heading West on Queen St., in which it hit me. Rather, she hit me. Actually, my lower back in particular, although, and I am almost certain that it is, the intended target was my bottom.

The initial impact had little or no effect, as I had continued walking. It were as if I had recieved this kind of treatment on more than one occasion, as if I were frequent to a 'slap happy bar'. Of course, only the opposite is true. However, it wasn't until I had advanced seven more steps that it sunk in. I was slapped by a random woman on the street!

Out of enjoyment? Excitement? Boredom? Did I know her from somewhere? Maybe a past life? What are her hobbies? And is this one of them? If only I had thought to stop and ask, but I was caught up in the moment. How did I feel? I went through a variety of states, from surprised, to puzzled, to denial, and then to acceptance. Going through these various states, I had kept one feeling throughout. A feeling of joy. From the moment of impact and to the moment of ponder, I had a smile throughout.

If each of us were to slap one person on the bum, just one person, think of how much joy you could also spread to those cheeks. I know how much i enjoyed it. Let's make it a goal. We can start small. Slap one random person a week. It doesn't have to be hard either, just a light tap, and make their day wonderful.
